Orthopaedic trauma care during the COVID 19 pandemic: The Latin American perspective
Abstract
Even the medical speciality of Orthopaedic and Traumatology it is not the first line of personnel taking care of the patients with COVID 19, and appears not to be related, the broad spectrum of our patients, clinical and surgical, affect all ages, and timeling care affects patient´s long term and function, positioning the time and timing of care for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, while manteining the safety of the patient and healthcare providers, is essential. We present the initial approaches to orthopaedic trauma care during the COVID 19 pandemic in the four representives countries of Latin America
Biography
Luis Gerardo Padilla Rojas is a renowned consultant in orthopedic and traumatology.Later he specialized in Traumatology and Orthopedics in the Health Sector. He is certificated member of Mexican Council of Orthopedic and Traumatology. And a member of the Directive Board of FEMECOT (Mexican Federation of Orthopedic and Traumatology). Since 2016, actually Secretary. Currently, he is an Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon at the Puerta de Hierro Medical Center in the city of Zapopan, Jalisco and at the Real San José Hospital in the city of Zapopan, Jalisco. He is an active member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Spanish Society of Orthopaedic and Traumatology, Orthopaedic and Trauma Association. He was a Ex Proffesor Orthoapedic at Valle de Mexico University from 2008 to 2019. And Master Sport Phisyotherapic and Nutrition. 2014-2016. He is specialized in Arthroscopy, Sports Injuries, Knee Arthroscopy, Shoulder Arthroscopy, Joint Reconstruction.
